there’s no Substitute
for a Genuine Encounter WITH GOD.

Maybe you’ve heard about God. Maybe you’ve heard about His love and mercy. Maybe you’re wondering if the stories are true. You’ll never
get the answer you’re looking for without a genuine encounter with God. Open your heart to the Good News Jesus has for you. Take the courageous step of allowing our good, kind and loving Father to reveal Himself to you.

5 TRUTHS ABOUT YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE

1. God knows who you are and He loves you.

Did you know that God loves you? Take a moment to really think about that statement – God loves you. Regardless of your race, age, background, past failures or any other aspect of your life, He deeply cares about you and is personally aware of all that is going on in your life. In short, God has an incredible love for you and wants more than anything else to have a genuine, personal relationship with you that can last forever. John 3:16 ”For God so love the world, that He gave His only begotten son…”

2. Sin has separated you from God.

You have a problem, in fact, we all have it. We have broken God’s commands. The Bible calls this sin in Romans 3:23, it specifically says “For all sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Have you ever lied,
stolen, or thought a wrong thought? Each of these actions break a command of God. Looking honestly into our own hearts reveals the truth – we have all committed sin. And sin has devastating consequences
– eternal separation from God, which the Bible refers to as spiritual death. Isaiah 59:2 “but your iniquities (sins) have separated between you and your God…”

3. Good works cannot earn you a home in heaven with God.

No amount of morality or good deeds can bridge the gap to God. Man’s shortcomings is not a behaviour problem, it is a sinful heart problem.
Most people think if they do enough good things, in their life, it will eventually earn them a home in heaven with God. But the Bible says in Proverbs 14:12 “There is a path before each person that
seems right but it ends in death.”

4. Jesus Christ is the only way to God.

Jesus Christ is just as much God as God the Father is, yet He came to earth and lived a human life. Jesus faced all the trials and temptations that we faced but never sinned. He voluntarily died on the cross, having
done nothing wrong, there He finished His greatest work. He paid for your sin. Then 3 days later, He would rise from the dead, proving to all that He truly was God. Romans 5:8 “But God showed His great love for us but sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”

5. You must place your faith & trust in Jesus Christ.

God wants to have a relationship with you through His son, Jesus Christ. He wnats to take your sinful heart and transform it permanently. Today, will you choose to believe in Christ? Right now, you can pray and ask God to forgive you of your sin. All you need to do is put your
faith and trust in Jesus Christ, believing He alone can save you.  Romans 10:13 “For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’”

Ready to Commit
your Life tO?

Awesome! That’s great news. All that is left now is to say a simple prayer to give your life to Him. Pray this:

Lord, I admit I am a sinner. I need and want Your forgiveness. I accept Your death as the penalty for my sin, and recognise that Your mercy and grace is a gift You offer to me because of Your great love, not based on anything I have done. Cleanse me and make me Your child. By faith I receive You into my heart as the Son of God, as Saviour, and Lord of my life. From now on, help me live for You, with You in control. In Your precious name I pray, Amen.

Congratulations! You are now a part of God’s Kingdom. It’s important going forward that you begin the spiritual disciplines of prayer, reading
your Bible, getting involved in a church, and telling others about Jesus.

Connect with other believers

Your new life is not one to be lived in isolation. Find a church where you feel at home, can invest your time, energy and resources in and can foster good relationships with other believers. It’s important to note that nobody’s perfect, and so no church will be either. But if you can learn and grow in your knowledge of God, and can build relationships with the believers there, then you might want to consider getting planted there.

You’re not in this life alone. Gods design is that we have others around us to guide and encourage us in our relationship with Him. It’s so healthy to get involved in a local church and join a home Bible study (we call them ‘circles’).
